IAD North Runway 1C–19C Topographic Survey & Utility Mapping

The purpose of the project was to provide the final design services of the North Runway 1C-19C and Associated Taxiways Y, Y2, Y3, Y4 and Y5 Reconstruction, which were identified as projects 4A, 4B and 4C in the relevant Pavement Management System Report for Washington Dulles International Airport.

RA was tasked with providing a topographic survey with subsurface utility mapping and boring location layout. In addition to providing mapping on the runway and taxiways, mapping was provided for the existing service road, the proposed service road location, contractor service area, and soil disposal area. All work was restricted to overnight hours between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am.
