Mike Zmuda, LS, PE joins Rice Associates, Inc.

Rice announces the hiring of Mike Zmuda, LS, PE to support the firm’s surveying and subsurface utility engineering (SUE) projects statewide, leading and managing Rice’s Richmond branch office.

Mike is a land surveyor licensed in Virginia with 36 years of experience and a VA-registered professional engineer. He has served two terms as a Board Member on the Land Surveyor Section for the Board for Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects (APELSCIDLA), Virginia’s official regulatory body for licensing professionals and regulating associated businesses. Additionally, Mike earned his bachelor's degree in surveying engineering from the University of Maine and a Master of Business Administration from Averett University.

In addition to serving 7 years as the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) State Survey Program Manager, Mike most recently led survey and SUE efforts statewide for Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT).

As an experienced administrator and project manager, Mike’s responsibilities at Rice will include managing project schedules, coordinating budgets, and ensuring quality assurance for various surveying and SUE services contracts and projects.
