  Successful candidates will have at least three years experience working on large scale public projects utilizing completely automated field data utilizing conventional, robotic, and RTK GPS equipment. This position is located in our Richmond branch.Preference will be given to candidates with experience using Leica and TDS equipment. Preference will also be given to candidates with current OSHA safety and Confined Space training. Safety is priority number one at Rice Associates. Subsurface Utility Designating and Locating Field Technician
 
With 3 years experience
Rice Associates, Inc. is seeking a Utility Designating and Locating Technician to join our Subsurface Utility Mapping team. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years of relevant field experience. Responsibilities include successful designation of multiple underground utilities in accordance with CI/ASCE 38-02 Quality Level B using electromagnetic and ground penetrating radar equipment, and the exposure of underground utilities using vacuum excavation, Quality Level A locating. Responsibilities also include performing various office tasks including equipment and vehicle maintenance, project kick off meetings, and utility records research. Qualifications: 3 or more years Utility Designating Experience 1 or more years Utility Locating Experience (Vacuum Excavation) Requirements: Ability to complete a field sketch and document all work. Capacity to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Capability to work 10 or more hours a day, weekends, travel throughout the entire service area, and overtime as needed. Overnight travel may be required. Basic computer skills needed. Land Survey experience a plus. Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Successful candidates can look forward to a competitive salary and benefits along with the opportunity for significant challenges and rewards.
